How it works
The mechanism, without the marketing
Polynucleotides are injectable preparations made from purified DNA fragments. They are used with the aim of supporting repair, hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality. Unlike dermal filler, they are not intended to enlarge lips, project a chin or rebuild facial structure. Their role is quieter: supporting the condition of the skin itself, including selected delicate areas where volume is not the goal.
What we assess
The details that change the plan
Skin thickness, crepiness, hydration and elasticity
The exact under eye concern, skin quality, hollowing, pigmentation, oedema or vascular shadow
Allergy history, inflammation, infection and previous injectable treatment
Whether expectations match a gradual regenerative treatment
Before, during & after
What the appointment may involve
Before, assessment: The area is assessed to establish whether the visible concern comes from the skin itself or from deeper anatomy that this treatment cannot change.
During, treatment: Multiple small injections are placed in the treatment area. Temporary visible papules are common immediately afterwards.
After, recovery: Swelling, bruising, tenderness and small raised areas can occur. Delicate areas, particularly around the eyes, may remain puffy for longer in some people.
Results, course & recovery
What changes, and when
Changes are gradual and variable. A course is often discussed because the aim is cumulative skin support rather than an instant structural change. Photography and a planned review are more useful than judging the treatment day by day.
Limits, risks & alternatives
The part that should never be hidden
Polynucleotides cannot replace lost volume, lift significant laxity, erase pigment or guarantee an improvement in dark circles. Evidence and product characteristics vary, so brand, origin and intended use matter. As with any injectable, infection, prolonged swelling, inflammatory reactions and vascular complications are possible, even if uncommon.
