How it works
The mechanism, without the marketing
Hair PRP or PRF uses a processed component of your own blood and delivers it into the scalp with the aim of supporting the environment around active hair follicles. It may be combined with LED in a structured protocol. The treatment can support suitable thinning patterns but cannot create new follicles where they are no longer viable.
What we assess
The details that change the plan
Pattern and duration of loss, shedding and scalp symptoms
Family history, recent illness, stress, nutrition and hormonal factors
Blood tests or medical referral needed before treatment
Medicines, platelet function, anaemia and bleeding risk
Before, during & after
What the appointment may involve
Before, assessment: Hair loss is approached as a diagnosis first. Baseline photographs and, where appropriate, medical investigations are arranged before committing to a course.
During, treatment: Blood is taken and processed, then the prepared component is injected across selected scalp areas. Comfort measures and optional LED are tailored to the plan.
After, recovery: Scalp tenderness, pinpoint bleeding, swelling, headache and bruising can occur. Hair washing and exercise advice is individualised.

What changes, and when
Hair outcomes are slow. Reduced shedding may precede visible density change, and assessment usually takes months with standardised photographs. Maintenance is only considered if there is evidence of worthwhile response.
Limits, risks & alternatives
The part that should never be hidden
PRP and PRF cannot reverse scarring alopecia, advanced follicle loss or untreated medical causes of shedding. Evidence and preparation methods vary. Infection, inflammation, bleeding and poor response are possible. Dermatology, GP investigation, medication, transplant assessment or no procedure may be more appropriate.

Still wondering?
Can I book this treatment immediately?
Treatment can only proceed after suitability, risks, alternatives and consent have been discussed. Your consultation is free and does not obligate you to proceed.
Will I need a course?
That depends on the indication and your response. We will explain what is essential, what is optional and when it is reasonable to review before committing further.
Are results guaranteed?
No medical aesthetic treatment can guarantee a specific outcome. We discuss likely benefit, uncertainty, downtime and risk before a decision is made.
